Oooooooh, Soft Suede

OK, I'll put my hands up and admit.....I wasn't too keen on Soft Suede when I first received it! OMG, was I wrong, it's gorgeous - watch out Old Olive and Chocolate Chip!

I found this scrap of Cottage Wall DSP and over-stamped it with one of the Pocket Silhouette stamps in Soft Suede. The small butterfly is from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set stamped in Rich Razzleberry. This was then layered onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry and a knot of the gorgeous Soft Suede polka dot ribbon was tied around it. The layers were then attached to a piece of Whisper White that I had used the Eyelet border punch along one edge. On the Soft Suede card base I stamped again with the same stamp and ink and popped the layers up on dimensionals.

For saying this card started with a scrap of DSP, I think it is lovely! Just goes to show you should never throw anything away...........................

Cottage Wall patchwork bag

Aren't the American's really lucky when it comes to Stampin' Up!? They have the Big Shot and dies........................

Recently on surfing You Tube I saw a couple of videos using the Stampin' Up! Top Note die to make these gorgeous little patchwork gift bags. I got totally jealous because we don't have them, but then remembered my shopping adventure at the NEC and the Nesties I bought. This is the closest Nestie shape I have to the Stampin' Up! Top Note die - woo hoo.................

I used two pieces of Whisper White, one for the front and one for the back. On the front piece I created this gorgeous patchwork effect using the Cottage Wall DSP and the Stampin' Write Journelling pen for the faux stitches. Both pieces were then die cut. To form the handle I used the both oval punches. The bag was made from an 11cm square envelope that I had cut the flap off and folded around the edges and bottom to make an envelobag. The die cut pieces were stuck on to the bag (env) and it was then decorated as shown.

I made this a while ago, so, as I am not back on top form yet, I am sitting with my feet up and catching up with stuff!!

Feeling a bit better now - Penicillin Rocks!!!

Tonsillitis

The lack of posts is due to me having had Tonsillitis all week and finally getting some anti-biotics today. Unfortunately I have had to cancel my Flight of the Butterfly classes, but these will be re-arranged for June.

Please accept my apologies, I'll be back soon...............

Carousel Notes.....erh....... thingy

This is the last project in my Carousel Notes class from the weekend. I think it was a bit ambitious to include this as well as the two previous projects, but I just love it!!

Thank you to Helen (All Things Stampy) for showing me how to make this..........thingy (not sure what it is called!) and to Jenny Moors (Stamping Moments) for the inspiration. I could not even begin to tell you how to make this, but Jenny has a fabulous tutorial.
Just love it....................

Carousel Notes Card

This is another project from my Carousel Notes class using the gorgeous Bird on a Branch stamp set and two Mellow Moss notes. Of course, in my opinion, Mellow Moss wouldn't be complete without Basic Grey and Bashful Blue!!

Carousel Notes Bag

Phew, what a week........husband away in the USA, daughter had Gymnastics, After School Club, Tennis, sleepover, sore throat and headache!! I've been busy sorting out my class for other Derbyshire Stampin' Up! demonstrators who came to my home today.

We made three projects from the Carousel Notes set. This is one of them..............

I used two of the So Saffron Carousel Notes and made a simple Chocolate Chip box to go inbetween them. I covered the lower half in the lovely Tall Tales DSP and stuck a strip of Chocolate Chip across the top which I'd added some faux stitching with a white gel pen. The sentiment is from One of a Kind stamp set. The cheeky monkey is from Fox & Friends stamp set (mini) and I wrapped his tail around the Old Olive satin ribbon handle!

A Birthday Card for Helen

I can post a picture of this card now as Helen has received it!

Oooohhh, Cottage Wall papers again!! Absolutely love them!! And the Rich Razzleberry card and polka dot grosgrain ribbon, think I might have to order some more.......................

A simple A6 Rich Razzleberry card with two co-ordinating papers and a knot of ribbon to hide the join. The stamped image is from Crazy for Cupcakes, as is the sentiment. I coloured the image in using Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum and Old Olive and then pricked a couple of lines of holes using the Mat Pack and Paper Piercer. This was layered onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry and then a semi-circle was punched out of the side for the knot to fit into. I also decorated the Whisper White insert with a couple of strips of the gorgeous papers.

Cottage Wall notebook

Just love this new paper, Cottage Wall, the colours are so fresh. I think Rich Razzleberry has to be my favourite of the three new colours.
This is a really simple notebook to make. The front and back covers are made from the piece of card that comes in the designer paper packs and the inner pages are record cards that Tesco sell (100 for 85p).
I covered the front with two different Cottage Wall papers, and punched one along the edge with the Eyelet border punch. The green strip is the waste from the border punch! On the reverse I used a piece of Rich Razzleberry card. I covered the back with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive. I used my binding machine to attach it all together and added a knot of the gorgeous new Rich Razzleberry polka dot grosgrain ribbon. The base of the butterfly was punched from one of papers and the top butterfly was punched from vellum and then stamped on using one of the Circle Circus stamps.

Another Cottage Wall project tomorrow..................

Scallop Circle Easel Card

Loving these colours!! Close to Cocoa, Mellow Moss and Pale Plum - gorgeous!!
I made the Mellow Moss easel card and cut off the front flap leaving a piece about 1cm. To this I stuck a scallop circle (Nestie) in Close to Cocoa and then layered circles of Pale Plum and Mellow Moss. I stamped the butterflies and the greeting (from Flight of the Butterfly stamp set) onto a Whisper White circle using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to help me get them in the right place! On the base I again layered Close to Cocoa and Pale Plum, but this time I added a strip of Mellow Moss designer paper from the Level 1 hostess paper pack. A knot of Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon and another stamped butterfly finished it off.

Another pyramid card...

While I was putting the finishing touches to yesterday's card my Mum called in, and, of course, I had to show her how to make one. I grabbed a sheet of Pink Passion and just made the base card.

After she had left, and because I had the paper on my desk, I finished it off using Night and Day papers and the Circle Circus stamp set stamped in Basic Black and Pink Passion.

Not sure is it is finished though.....................

Pyramid Card for Helen

My Stampin' Up! upline, Helen, showed me this card on the web (stampowl.blogspot.com) knowing I would have to have a go, then I could show her how to do it - crafty(!) isn't she!!

I used one of my least favourite colours, Green Galore, as I was just having a go, and teamed it with the black polka dot paper from the Night and Day speciality designer paper pack (Mini). As the card started to come together I could see the large flowers from the Greenhouse Garden stamp set falling down the front, stamped using Green Galore and Basic Black. I tied this version together with some of the white grosgrain ribbon that I inked using Basic Black (as Stampin' Up don't have a plain black ribbon - YET (hopefully - please!)). The small sentiment is from the Tiny Tags stamp set (Mini) which I punched out with the Word Window punch and layered onto basic black. I also punched out the branch from the new bird punch (Mini) in the same colours.

Take 3 pieces of 10cm x 10cm card and fold them corner to corner to form a triange. Open them out. Lay the first piece down with the fold going from top left to bottom right. Take the second piece, and with the fold going from top to bottom (so it looks like a diamond) line the top right edge up to the fold of the first piece (corners must meet in the middle at the top) and stick. The last square needs to have the fold going from top right to bottom left, stick this to the diamond shaped second piece, again lining the top right straight edge up to the fold of the second (diamond) piece. Once all the pieces are glued together fold it to look like a pyramid. This version was tied closed using ribbon. Clear as mud.........................................!
