Friendly Owl - hopefully!

Sometimes a swift kick in the laptop helps!!!

Isn't he a cutie?

The image is from the Fox and Friends set that is in the Mini Catalogue, which I used the Rock 'n' Roll technique using Pumpkin Pie and Close to Cocoa inks. The "moon" behind is So Saffron CS sponged around the edge with Close to Cocoa ink. The branch is punched out in Close to Cocoa and Old Olive CS using the Two-Step Bird punch, again from the Mini Catalogue. These were assembled on a piece of Whisper White and Close to Cocoa that had the corners rounded and the edges sponged with Close to Cocoa ink as before. On the front of the Pumpkin Pie base card I stamped some foliage from the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set.

I am really going to miss Close to Cocoa when Stampin' Up! retire the colour at the end of September - better put in a huge order for cardstock and ink pads before it is too late!!!

Friendly Owl

I have a gorgeous little card to show you, but for some reason Blogger won't upload the picture - aaaaggghhh!!! Bear with me while I kick something..................

Not a recess card!

I really love this stamp set, Vintage Vogue, and I am hoping and praying that it makes it from the Mini Catalogue into the new main catalogue which is out on 1st October.
The base card is 14cm square in Soft Suede. I used the Very Vintage wheel and rolled it across the front with Soft Suede ink. Then I attached a 13cm square layer of Rich Razzleberry CS in the centre of the card. On a 12.5cm square of Very Vanilla I stamped the vine from the set in Soft Suede. The large flower from the set is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and the smaller is in Pale Plum. These were cut out, curled and layered together with a Vintage brad and attached onto the card using Glue Dots. The greeting is from Occasional Greetings and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I also used the Very Vintage wheel with the Soft Suede ink on the inside of the Very Vanilla insert.

Fun and Fast Notes new baby cards

A few weeks ago I had a stall at a local fair and decided I would make a box full of my favourite recess cards. Did I bite off more than I could chew? - you bet!! After making about 20 I had had enough. Plus, as soon as I had made them people kept buying them!!! (I know, that is why I made them in the first place!!) That is the reason there is no pink card, the glue wasn't even dry on the insert before it sold!
This stamp set, Fun & Fast Notes, has to be one of the most versatile sets in the catalogue as there is a stamp for every occasion. I received Fun and Fast Notes in my demonstrator starter kit and have not only used all the images (as there are 8 in the set it is perfect to use at a workshop) I have also used the greetings alongside other images.
On the front of the white recess card I added a frame of Bashful Blue DSP/Tall Tales DSP and inside the recess I added a square of Bashful Blue CS/So Saffron CS. I stamped the image onto a piece of Whisper White with Basic Grey, and then again on Bashful Blue CS/So Saffron CS. I cut out the body of the pram from the coloured card and glued it over the stamped image on the Whisper White. To make the polka dots on the pram I used my white gel pen. Using my Mat Pack and Paper Piercer I pricked a border around the image square and attached it into the centre of the recess. The greeting was stamped onto Whisper White with Basic Grey and punched out using the Stampin' Up! oval punch. This was then attached to coloured card and punched out with the co-ordinating Scallop Oval punch.
As I made sooooooo many recess cards I promise I will only post a few!!!

Time Out............

I am sorry for the lack of posts, but I really needed some craft-free time as I felt completely burnt out. As a lot of you know, I put so much into my projects and classes, probably too much!, and recently I have found myself unable to face going into my craft room. Also, I have had some difficult personal decisions to make recently and needed a clear head to sort things out. A weeks holiday on the gorgeous Suffolk coast has done me the world of good and I have started crafting again.

In the next couple of days I am hoping to post some little things I have been working on.

Thank you for your kind messages.
