No posts again ............

But, I have been crafting, honest!

Good News: I have had my delivery of sneak peeks from the new catalogue, which is out on October 1st, and have been making some gorgeous things to show you.

Bad News: Because my new products are sneak peeks for Stampin' Up! demonstrators only, I can't post any of the yummy things I have made until October 1st - AARRGGHH!!! (Don't you wish you were a demonstrator now??? Contact me if you would like to know how to sign up and get all the new yummies!

What I can tell you is that the new colours are going to knock your socks off, I've already had to order some more cardstock! Gorgeous new papers (stroking them now). Funky punches. Cuter than cute stamp sets ................. ooops, I'm giving too much away!!

Hopefully I will also be posting details of my new classes next week (if I can stop crafting and stroking long enough!).

Take care until next time.........

Fun and Fast Notes bird

I told you I have made loads of recess cards!!

This one is made from Kraft CS (soon to be called Crumb Cake in the new catty) with Mellow Moss DSP from the Patterns Pack DSP III, free Level 1 Hostess gift when you spend £150 or more. I added some So Saffron as an accent colour behind the image and the greeting. The image is from the very versatile Fun and Fast Notes stamp set which I stamped onto Whisper White in Basic Grey ink and coloured with Close to Cocoa, So Saffron and Mellow Moss inks and a Blender Pen. I then used the Mat Pack and Paper Piercer to prick a border around the edge.

Studio Sketches Recess Card

Phew, Friday already, where did the week go? It was my birthday at the beginning of the week, and, as it was also the Bank Holiday, I was really busy and did not have time to post anything!

Remember I said I had made a box full of recess cards? Well, here is another. ****Non-Stampin' Up products alert**** Those of a nervous disposition please look away now...............

I really like this little Stampin' Up! stamp set. It is one of the free Hostess Level 1 sets that you can earn for orders over £150, found in the Mini Catalogue. But, don't forget, this stamp set is only available until the end of this month, so if you want it you had better get your skates on......

I made a simple white recess card and added a square of Always Artichoke in the centre. The paper frame is from my stash, as is the greeting. I stamped the image onto a square of Whisper White with Close to Cocoa ink. With a Blender Pen I went over the image to 'drag' the colour around and added a very weak wash of Always Artichoke ink over the pears. I stamped the bowl of fruit, as before, onto a scrap of white and cut it out to pop it up on a dimensional.

Guess what my Hubby got me for my birthday (as well as books, books and more books (so I like to read!))? Money to spend in the new catalogue!!!! Only 27 days to go....................

Friendly Owl - hopefully!

Sometimes a swift kick in the laptop helps!!!

Isn't he a cutie?

The image is from the Fox and Friends set that is in the Mini Catalogue, which I used the Rock 'n' Roll technique using Pumpkin Pie and Close to Cocoa inks. The "moon" behind is So Saffron CS sponged around the edge with Close to Cocoa ink. The branch is punched out in Close to Cocoa and Old Olive CS using the Two-Step Bird punch, again from the Mini Catalogue. These were assembled on a piece of Whisper White and Close to Cocoa that had the corners rounded and the edges sponged with Close to Cocoa ink as before. On the front of the Pumpkin Pie base card I stamped some foliage from the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set.

I am really going to miss Close to Cocoa when Stampin' Up! retire the colour at the end of September - better put in a huge order for cardstock and ink pads before it is too late!!!

Friendly Owl

I have a gorgeous little card to show you, but for some reason Blogger won't upload the picture - aaaaggghhh!!! Bear with me while I kick something..................

Not a recess card!

I really love this stamp set, Vintage Vogue, and I am hoping and praying that it makes it from the Mini Catalogue into the new main catalogue which is out on 1st October.
The base card is 14cm square in Soft Suede. I used the Very Vintage wheel and rolled it across the front with Soft Suede ink. Then I attached a 13cm square layer of Rich Razzleberry CS in the centre of the card. On a 12.5cm square of Very Vanilla I stamped the vine from the set in Soft Suede. The large flower from the set is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and the smaller is in Pale Plum. These were cut out, curled and layered together with a Vintage brad and attached onto the card using Glue Dots. The greeting is from Occasional Greetings and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I also used the Very Vintage wheel with the Soft Suede ink on the inside of the Very Vanilla insert.

Fun and Fast Notes new baby cards

A few weeks ago I had a stall at a local fair and decided I would make a box full of my favourite recess cards. Did I bite off more than I could chew? - you bet!! After making about 20 I had had enough. Plus, as soon as I had made them people kept buying them!!! (I know, that is why I made them in the first place!!) That is the reason there is no pink card, the glue wasn't even dry on the insert before it sold!
This stamp set, Fun & Fast Notes, has to be one of the most versatile sets in the catalogue as there is a stamp for every occasion. I received Fun and Fast Notes in my demonstrator starter kit and have not only used all the images (as there are 8 in the set it is perfect to use at a workshop) I have also used the greetings alongside other images.
On the front of the white recess card I added a frame of Bashful Blue DSP/Tall Tales DSP and inside the recess I added a square of Bashful Blue CS/So Saffron CS. I stamped the image onto a piece of Whisper White with Basic Grey, and then again on Bashful Blue CS/So Saffron CS. I cut out the body of the pram from the coloured card and glued it over the stamped image on the Whisper White. To make the polka dots on the pram I used my white gel pen. Using my Mat Pack and Paper Piercer I pricked a border around the image square and attached it into the centre of the recess. The greeting was stamped onto Whisper White with Basic Grey and punched out using the Stampin' Up! oval punch. This was then attached to coloured card and punched out with the co-ordinating Scallop Oval punch.
As I made sooooooo many recess cards I promise I will only post a few!!!

Time Out............

I am sorry for the lack of posts, but I really needed some craft-free time as I felt completely burnt out. As a lot of you know, I put so much into my projects and classes, probably too much!, and recently I have found myself unable to face going into my craft room. Also, I have had some difficult personal decisions to make recently and needed a clear head to sort things out. A weeks holiday on the gorgeous Suffolk coast has done me the world of good and I have started crafting again.

In the next couple of days I am hoping to post some little things I have been working on.

Thank you for your kind messages.

Soft Suede Vintage Vogue

Sorry for the very skewiff photo, this was the only position on my desk I could get any light today!

While I was making the last Vintage Vogue card the idea for this one just popped into my head. I was very doubtful about the colour combination, so made it anyway to see what it would look like!! The colours are Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry and Kraft. It's growing on me...........

Vintage Vogue flowers

I called in to see my upline, Helen, for a cuppa, and she ended up showing me how to make this layered flower using the Vintage Vogue set. When I eventually got home I couldn't wait to have a go and this is the result.

The base card is Ruby Red, the die cut is Kraft and virtually all the images are from the Vintage Vogue stamp set. I also used the Tiny Tags stamp set with the matching punch. The inks are Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip and the ribbon is the Chocolate Chip satin from the Mini catalogue.

I love this stamp set, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it makes it into the new catalogue in October!!

You are my sunshine.........

I think that the Something Sweet stamp set in the Mini catalogue is sooo cute, just love this sunflower!!
The base card is So Saffron cardstock and the layers on the front of the card are Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. The petals are stamped with So Saffron ink and the leaves in Certainly Celery. I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip onto Whisper White. The 'seeds' inside the cup are punched from Chocolate Chip cardstock with the 3/4" circle punch, to which I added a highlight with a white gel pen, and sealed inside with a scrap of Certainly Celery.
I sat looking at this card eating a nectarine and over-looking my garden, made me feel all summery!!!

If it ain't Baroque, don't fix it..........

Corny I know...................

You know how you get those annoying adverts that flash on and off on some websites? This is where I got the inspiration for this card, it was actually a pile of cushions, but, hey, I'll take inspiration from anywhere at the moment!!

My base card is Certainly Celery with a Whisper White insert. On a piece of Basic Black I have stamped the swirl from Baroque Motifs in Versamark and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. A knot of the gorgeous black and white striped grosgrain was added around the black card before I attached it to the card front. The flower and the circle it sits on is made using Whisper White, Certainly Celery and Basic Black cardstock circles, punched out using a variety of Stampin' Up! circle punches. The circles for the flower were scrunched up and attached together with a Crystal brad in the centre. The greeting is from Pocket Silhouettes stamp set punched out with the Word Window punch.

The photo looks a bit skewiff, but I was trying to get the light shining on the embossing. You should know by now that photography is not my strong point!!

Baby Boy card

Ooooh this photograph is soooo bad, sorry!!

The base card is Certainly Celery with a layer of Bashful Blue DSP. A knot of Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon was tied around the DSP before sticking it on the card. I punched a hole in the front with the 1 3/4" circle punch and one of the fun Treat Cups put through the hole and attached at the back. The rattle handle is from the Something Sweet stamp set (Mini) which I stamped with Certainly Celery ink onto Whisper White. The cup was filled with co-ordinating tiny beads and the back was sealed with the Whisper White insert. Before attaching the insert, I stamped the 'sweet little baby' sentiment from the set so that it would show through the cup - thank goodness for the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig!!!

Bella Bleu Iris Folding-ish box

Ok, so I went the whole hog and made a bag to go with the card and tag!!
Instructions for the Iris Folding as earlier post. The bag is a simple 7, 14, 21, 28cm box.
That's the last of these projects, honest....................
